Ghost Diving and NARC volunteers continue cleanups in Egypt
Due to the global pandemic and as we said goodbye to our UK chapter beginning of this year, we have not been able to work much more in the UK, nor with British volunteer divers. This changed at the end of 2020 when we were in Egypt for on an ongoing project and we got the honor of diving with volunteers from the oldest UK cleaning organization Neptune’s Army of Rubbish Cleaners (NARC). Of course we immediately seized this opportunity with both hands and we continued together with a major clean-up in Laguna (Beach) in the south of Dahab.
With a group of 8 recreational divers and 3 technical divers from Ghost Diving chapters Egypt and The Netherlands and NARC, we we formed 4 teams and picked up all sorts of rubbish including hundreds of meters of fishing lines at Laguna (Beach) in the south of Dahab. This clean-up was again supported by dive center Scuba Seekers.
This clean-up is the start of our new plans to incorporate recreational projects into our work with Ghost Diving, of course in the safest way possible as you can expect from our organization. Soon you will read everything in detail on our new how we work page. Keep an eye on our website for developments regarding these projects.
